My previous and ongoing research focused on the neurocognitive mechanisms of social cognition with a special interest for face and emotion perception and representation. By computational modeling of behavior and brain activity, I am currently investigating whether the interaction of emotional expressions with other relevant co-emitted social cues in the decision-making process only applies where the decision itself concerns the emotional state of the emitter (as in El Zein et al. 2015), or whether it is also present when non-social decisions are to be made. Critically, I aim at testing the impact of anxiety on both social and non-social decision-making processes.
